“…life is more than just survival. Always live to thrive, not just to survive in a mean hole in the ground, but to thrive with passion and compassion and humor and style…” -Maya Angelou
My passion is to move others, pointing to the forgotten details in life and the beauty of the overlooked. I am interested in the lives of forgotten women and children, finding beauty in unexpected places, and juxtaposing things that seem to oppose each other. It is important to me that I learn, experience, explore, and play… that I thrive.
Traveling expands my view and voice. This world continues to amaze me, from the awesome quietness of a Redwood forest down to the smallest cracks of a Puebla street. Along with much of the States, I have had the opportunity to visit Thailand, Laos, Mynamar, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Germany, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and several Southern Carribean islands to see and experience the delight and sorrow in other cultures. I am passionate about social justice and continue to create pieces that comment on life’s struggles and joys.
